South West Turf is a member of the Turf Producers Association of Australia. South West Turf is a family run enterprise. South West Turf is possibly Australia's newest turf farm. Although being new to the world of turf, Hayden has been in agriculture for over 25 years. Due to our relative inexperience in turf, Hayden chose to engage a local agronomist in Peter Hill. Peter has a Bachelor in Agricultural Science, and is consulted regularly. Turfgrass Scientific Services based in Sydney, has also been available from day one. Peter McMaugh from TSS has 45 years experience and his knowledge of turf is unparalleled in the turf industry. Therefore turf problem solving is only a phone call away. Clear the site of weeds and existing lawn, particularly those different to your new turf. Kikuyu and couch's can be very persistent. This is best done by spraying with a Glyphosate type knockdown herbicide. A minimum of 10 to 14 days prior to laying the turf is recommended. Tip - it's always best to spray actively growing plants for chemical efficacy. Don't spray plants that are frosted, waterlogged or drought stressed. If in doubt, use a professional.
